Secrets:
The Green Man, a face surrounded by leaves,
is an ancient symbol. In different ages and different
countries he has represented nature gods, ancestral
faces, the Lord of Greenwood, a forest demon, or wild
man. Here the Green Man is shown as a protective spirit
of the forest, gathering all the birds, animals, and
even fairies beneath his sheltering boughs. On the inside
of the box figurine is an acorn cap. Acorns symbolize
life, rebirth and immortality.
Mold Variation:
"Harmony Kingdom has released a special variation
of the box figurine "Greenman's Grove." To
the surprise and delight of HK fans, the variation was
not announced by Harmony Kingdom, but was discovered
by collectors.
For
Harmony Kingdom carver Mel Heald, the Green Man represents
a deep connection to the cycles of nature. The animals
and fairies of the forest gather around him and enjoy
the shelter of his protective boughs. The interior of
the box figurine is graced with an acorn cap.
But
for only 250 “Greenman’s Grove” figurines,
the interior acorn cap is replaced by a push-style lawnmower."
